Many customers ask our Design Team to give them a fresh, new look for their family rooms. In one particular consultation, the customer was tired of her traditional sofa and wing-back chairs. She asked Erica to design her a modern, casual living space.
Erica started by finding a mix of modern furniture with fun and colorful fabrics to brighten the room. She decorated this clean-line, neutral sofa with two pairs of pillows; one pair in a brown and blue starburst pattern and the other pair in a textured light blue fabric.
Erica added a comfortable recliner in a slate blue, continuing from the pillows on the sofa and tying in with an accent wall to the adjacent dining room.
The other side of the room displays a modern chair that Erica dressed in a coordinating fabric. She chose this style because of its taller legs, creating a lighter space and low back so as not to block the view of the TV in the corner.
Finally, Erica enhanced the feel of the room with dark, contemporary tables and added an element of style with metallic accessories.

Family Room Before This client came to us wanting a fresh new look for her family room. Her current furniture consisted of a leather loveseat, recliner, and a small chair by the T.V. She wanted to keep some of her existing accessories and the warm fall colors that she enjoys in the room.

Family Room After With the client's requests in hand, Erica went to work selecting the perfect pieces for their room. She gave them extra seating by choosing a sofa in a rich carmel leather. To go with it she chose a high leg recliner in a terra cotta fabric to give them some color in the room. An ottoman was placed in front of the sofa and was covered in a paisley print with terra cotta, brown, and carmel colors. To give them even extra seating a bench was placed in front of the patio window. A landscape picture was hung above the sofa with a floor lamp beside it to create some reading light. To complete the look a mirror was placed on the mantel along with some of the customers existing accessories.
